My Current Frustration

Something that I really enjoy doing is helping other people. I get something from that I don't get any other way. There's something about going over to a friend's house and seeing that she has her hands full and washing dishes, or folding laundry, or even just cuddling her baby. When I can do it I love it. Even if I go home exhausted and drained. It's a great natural high.
However, when I'm pregnant I don't have the energy to do that. I barely have the energy to keep my own house looking decent and take care of my family. As a result I don't get that high, and I get down.
I have one friend in particular that I have been able to help quite a bit. From visits to her house I taught her basics to making it easier to clean, such as wiping down the counters after you wash the dishes. I was able to help her move out of an apartment when she found out 3 hours before midnight that she had to be out by midnight. And I have watched her kids numerous times through the years.
Because of my limited energy I'm trying really hard not to do extra things for people, which is really hard on me. That same friend called me earlier this week and asked for a ride somewhere. It was sooooo frustrating to have to tell her no! I know she didn't mind and found someone else to help, but I really like being the friend that my friends and family can call when they need me.

A Miracle

Today a miracle happened. After church I asked Kaleb what he learned in Primary. He told me he learned about Jesus Christ. He then told me the story of the fish and the bread. I was amazed! Not only did he learn something and remember it, but he was able to communicate what he had learned to me.
Sometimes it is really frustrating to have a four year old who is so hard to communicate with, but that frustration makes days like today absolutely wonderful!

Tan Line

About a month ago I got a really bad sunburn. A couple days later I had recovered, and yesterday morning I put on a different swimsuit (this one is halter style)and looked at my back. I had 2 strap lines of white and the rest of my back was a nice light tan color. I thought: It would be nice if my whole back was the same color, oh well...
Then we went swimming. I used sunblock, but apparently I didn't spray it on my back very well, because I now have a new sunburn. Now my whole back is one color of bright pink, except for two five inch long and 1 inch wide stripes where the tie was hanging from my neck. I guess that's what I get for wishing...

This is one of the best uses for Duct Tape I've ever seen.

Ultrasound

We went to get an ultrasound this morning. That is one of the coolest things, to be able to see your baby while it's still inside, wow. The hospital has upgraded to DVD now, so we have a DVD of the ultrasound to put with the VHS video's of Kaleb and Von. Here are some of the pictures:

I've gotten pretty good at ultrasounds and could tell what was on the screen most of the time. I also have a little experience seeing what little boys look like on Ultrasounds. So when it showed up, I knew what it was. We're having a boy!
I want a girl at some point, but apparently she'll need lots of big brothers to take care of her.

Honey Buckets

Over the weekend we went to the 4th of July celebration downtown. Some nieces came too, and I was the lucky one who ended up taking kids to the bathroom. None of the kids I helped had used a porta-potty before, or at least didn't remember it. The first thing I noticed was that the company name for the potties was "Honey Bucket" that made me go hmmmmm. One little boy didn't want to sit down on the seat, so I showed him the urinal, he thought that was great. So great in fact that he wanted to use it on his second trip to the potty when he needed to do more than pee. I finally convinced him to sit down on the seat though.
The girls were a bit hesitant to sit down as well. My favorite comment was: "Someone forgot to flush!"
The joys of little kids...

HOT Days!

Each day this week has seemed extra long. I'll feel like it's about time for Karl to get home, so I check the time and it's only 2 or 3 instead of 5. Yesterday I figured out a very probable reason for this. It is HOT! I don't know what temperature it gets up to, probably only in the low 90's, but there hasn't been a breeze to help cool down my house. I'm planning on getting out my box fans and seeing if that helps cool us down a little.
On the plus side- I'm feeling better! At my doctor appointment on Monday the Dr. said to try doing a little bit more and see if it helps my pain. Although I didn't think it would help I've been doing that, and I haven't been hurting as much. Whoohooo!!!
